Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create? Key job responsibilities In this role you will: • Design sensors and sensing features into world-class devices and cutting-edge prototypes. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders across the company. • Dive into and take ownership to root-cause and resolve critical design and manufacturing issues. • Participate in design reviews. • Address all aspects of technology readiness, including manufacturability. • Work with contract manufacturers to ensure designs can be built at scale and within budget. • Contribute to maintaining and updating team processes and good practices. • Provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentoring. • Establish robust processes and methodologies to deliver technology to products. • Contribute to product requirements and specifications definition. • Participate in technology and product roadmap creation. • Up to 20% travel. A day in the life As a Sensors Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will: • Work with Sensor Architects to transition Sensor DRI ownership from design to NPI validation phase. • Attend cross-functional program meetings and work with cross-functional team (PD/EE/Display/Optics/Operation etc.) on sensor integration and manufacturing g readiness, risks, and mitigation
