What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, HCI, Information Architecture, or a related field, At least 5 years of experience designing and launching software or informatics products in environments such as healthcare, logistics, defense, or similar industries, Proven experience working in Scrum or Agile development teams, knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies, Hands-on experience with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, InVision, Axure, SolidWorks, Dreamweaver CC, PhoneGap Build, or similar, Solid understanding of presentation and front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XAML, and native platforms, with awareness of accessibility standards, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities
Nice to Have
A Master's or PhD in a related discipline is a plus
What You'll Do.
Lead end‑to‑end UX design activities for informatics products
from concept to launch and post‑market support
Design intuitive and engaging user experiences across desktop
Translate both spoken and unspoken customer needs into meaningful
differentiated product experiences
Create and maintain UX artifacts such as personas
and functional specifications
Drive and conduct user research and usability testing
iterating designs based on insights and findings
Contribute to and continuously improve UX architecture
and scalability of UX assets across multiple projects and teams
Identify best‑in‑class design patterns
and frameworks to ensure usability and visual excellence
Ensure all design work complies with the ADD Informatics Quality System and applicable US and international regulatory standards
Assess UX‑related technical risks and support mitigation strategies
Communicate design concepts
and rationale clearly and effectively to stakeholders
Collaborate closely with product managers
and external partners
Participate in Human Factors Engineering (HFE) activities to improve usability
and track design projects

## **JOB DESCRIPTION:** **About the Role** Abbott is looking for a talented and experienced **Senior UX / Product Designer** to join our Diagnostics Division and play a critical role in the design of compelling informatics products. In this role, you will lead the design of **multi‑channel, interactive digital experiences** , guiding products from early concept through launch and supporting them throughout their lifecycle.
