What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter, at least 5 years of experience., Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance, Knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment., General awareness of current events, industry issues and trends., Ability to understand, preserve and apply current technical information to everyday work problems., Demonstrate your knowledge of pricing tools, systems, and processes as well as your ability to articulate the underlying principles and philosophies.
Nice to Have
Bilingualism (English and French) is a asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec., A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.
What You'll Do.
Conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulife's philosophy and standards.
Comply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification
Identify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriter's work.
