What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement, 8+ years systems engineering experience, Experience supporting customer engineering activities, understanding of systems integration and verification, Ability to communicate technical information clearly, Experience working with cross functional teams, Proficiency in systems engineering tools and processes, Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
Nice to Have
Master’s degree in engineering or related field, 10+ years of systems engineering experience, Experience in aerospace or space systems engineering, Familiarity with NASA programs and processes, problem solving and analytical skills, Experience leading customer engagements, Knowledge of human spaceflight systems, Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
What You'll Do.
Lead ISS sustaining engineering teams
Provide critical support for on-orbit operations
Engage with management and engineering
Apply interdisciplinary approach to plan
develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements
Integrate technical parameters
Assure compatibility of physical
functional and program interfaces
Lead engineering systems through safety
human systems integration
and risk factor evaluation into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Resolve cross-functional technical issues
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Engage with all levels of management and engineering across the NASA ISS program, Boeing ISS program, NASA Engineering, NASA Flight Operations, and NASA Payloads organizations; Works directly with customers to resolve cross-functional technical issues; Experience working with cross functional teams
Communication Scope
Ability to communicate technical information clearly; Excellent communication skills
