Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Apply advanced system safety engineering methods to perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety case development across complex autonomous and safety-critical systems. Utilize AI-assisted digital engineering platforms to support and optimize traditional safety analyses such as FHA, FTA, STPA, HARA, and FMECA, improving speed and consistency. Perform human-in-the-loop validation of AI-generated safety outputs, ensuring full technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with industry standards. Define system and subsystem safety requirements, including safety architectures, Levels of Rigor (LoR), and traceability of mitigations through design, verification, and validation phases. Develop and deliver comprehensive safety documentation, including Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), and digital safety cases. Collaborate directly with product and software teams to provide feedback on tools, workflows, and platform features to enhance usability and engineering effectiveness. Support client engagements by guiding Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Operational Design Domain (ODD) definition across industries such as defense, automotive, and energy. Ensure compliance with relevant functional safety and systems safety standards, including MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ARP-4761, and DO-178 frameworks. Requirements: 4–10 years of dedicated experience in system safety engineering, preferably in complex or safety-critical domains such as automotive, aerospace, defense, or industrial systems. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong expertise in system safety methodologies including PHA, FHA, FTA, FMECA, STPA, and related hazard analysis techniques. Proven experience developing formal safety artifacts such as safety cases, SSPPs, and safety assessment reports in regulated environments. Deep familiarity with safety and compliance s
