What They're Looking For.
Must Have
2+ years of IBM (iSeries/IBMi) system administration experience, Experience with IBM OS upgrades, PTF management, security administration, and performance tuning, understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture and core IBM technologies, Experience using BRMS or equivalent backup and recovery solutions, Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing, Experience managing LPAR environments and TCP/IP configurations, Knowledge of IBM security concepts including user authorities, object security, auditing, and system monitoring tools, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Nice to Have
Exposure to IBM scripting or automation technologies such as CL, SQL, or RPG would be advantageous
What You'll Do.
Administer and support large IBM (iSeries/IBMi) environments to ensure system stability
Perform operating system upgrades
and manage Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) and cumulative PTF packages
Monitor system performance including CPU
proactively identifying and resolving issues
Manage backup and recovery operations using BRMS or equivalent tools
including disaster recovery planning and testing
Configure and maintain LPAR environments
and connected system devices
Create and maintain user profiles
and access controls in accordance with security policies and compliance requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve IBM hardware
and infrastructure-related issues while coordinating with vendors and support teams as required
