What They're Looking For.
Must Have
five years of experience working within a z/OS environment, Familiarity with mainframe functional areas such as z/OS Operating System, Storage, Databases, CICS, and Disaster Recovery concepts, Technical implementation skills required for DB2 on zOS and related ISV software products on the z/OS platform, experience with SMP/E, including base installation and maintenance application for DB2 and related ISV software, Proficiency in interacting with ISV vendors, problem determination and resolution for the products identified above, Ability to host meetings and conference calls, Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel to a level of creating documents which can be shared with clients, Will serve as primary technical contact for mainframe Database for one or more clients during transition, Experience supporting DB2 zOS from a Systems or DBA perspective is required, The successful candidate will have experience upgrading DB2 zOS, Understanding of DB2 connect, Security exits, DB2 data sharing in a SYSPLEX environment, Extracting information from DB2 logs, DB2 Database system recovery
Nice to Have
Experience with CICS or zOS Operating System a plus, Experience with IDAA a plus, Experience with IMS and IMS upgrades a plus
What You'll Do.
Creating Low Level Design (LLD) documents
Providing technical knowledge
Interacting with clients
Identifying components for Client On-boarding
Performing Client Onboarding
Performing Migrations
Completing end-to-end server builds
Performing upgrades for DB2 on zOS
Supporting associated ISV products
Engaged in transition from client’s IT
Support of DB2 for clients
Upgrade and support ISV software
Engage in testing and monitoring
Debug database related issues
Meet with new clients
Participate in Knowledge Transfer
Shadowing of client environments
Transition new clients
Troubleshooting DB2 System database issues
Troubleshooting DB2 software issues
Working knowledge of WLM environment
Solid working knowledge of DB2 Utilities
TSO and FTP knowledge
SMP/E role in installation
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
support the Sales and Solution Architecture teams; Work with clients; Work with clients to debug database related issues; Work on a team of other mainframe professionals; collaborate with teams and stakeholders
Communication Scope
Ability to host meetings and conference calls; creating documents which can be shared with clients
Process & Methodology
manage multiple projects simultaneously
