What They're Looking For.
Must Have
4+ years shipping production web applications, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Fluency with modern AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, or equivalents), A habit of testing what you write and reviewing what others (and tools) produce, Ability to take ambiguous requirements, scope them, and deliver, Clear communication, you can explain a technical tradeoff to a PM with ease
Nice to Have
Experience across the stack (backend, CI, infrastructure), Experience building for a two-sided marketplace, Experience in insurance, risk, or trust & safety, Previous startup experience
