About 1upHealth At 1upHealth, we’re on a mission to unlock health data and empower the future of healthcare through modern, cloud-native data infrastructure and interoperability. We build a platform that enables payers, providers, and digital health companies to ingest, normalize, and exchange clinical and claims data at scale; securely, reliably, and with strong compliance foundations. We are a remote-first U. S. company with a culture focused on collaboration, transparency, and meaningful impact. Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC4) to make significant technical contributions across our full stack platform. In this role, you will lead large, ambiguous projects from design through delivery, architect scalable systems, and raise the technical bar across the team. You will partner closely with Product, Design, QA, Security, and Infrastructure to drive alignment, mentor fellow engineers, and shape the technical direction of the team. What You’ll Do Technical Leadership Deliver high-quality, well-tested code with strong velocity and lead technical discussions that raise the bar across the team. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, estimate large projects, and advocate for technical investments alongside feature work. Review and optimize system performance, driving meaningful improvements in latency, throughput, and resource consumption. System Design Make significant design contributions to major systems, writing ADRs and leading design reviews to build consensus before work begins. Drive scalable, secure, maintainable architecture and apply threat modeling and secure design principles throughout. Collaboration & People Leadership Drive team-wide alignment by clarifying goals, communicating proactively with cross-functional partners, and influencing technical decisions through clear reasoning.
