## Accountabilities You will design, build, and evolve scalable backend systems that power AI-driven legal workflows and ensure reliability across distributed services. Contribute to the design and evolution of AI orchestration systems, building durable and fault-tolerant agentic workflows using tools such as Temporal and LLM-driven reasoning patterns. Develop and deliver backend features across their full lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production monitoring. Build and maintain high-performance Python-based services using modern frameworks such as FastAPI and async/await patterns. Implement robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability. Maintain strong observability practices using logging, monitoring, and performance tracking tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, engineers, and domain experts to translate legal workflows into technical solutions. Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, and engineering standards definition for AI systems. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting growth in backend engineering and AI system design practices. Requirements This role requires deep backend engineering expertise, strong Python proficiency, and experience building distributed and scalable systems. 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience with strong expertise in Python (3.12+). Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, FastAPI, and Pydantic v2. Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems, including event-driven architectures, message queues, or workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal. Experience building production-grade, highly reliable backend services with strong observability and testing practices.
