Full Job Description
The Enterprise Protection Program (EPP) is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team and help identify, investigate, and mitigate insider threats to Amazon. We seek a senior security professional with experience diving deep into various types of log data and forensic results as well as conducting and leading complex and ambiguous technical investigations. The ideal candidate also combines strong analytical and investigation skills with innovative thinking to develop "think big" solutions that advance our security capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Amazon's security posture while working with innovative tools and technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities Threat Investigation & Analysis: - Build sophisticated queries and process large datasets and forensic data to identify and pursue potential insider threat activity - Apply deep analytical skills to uncover new, complex security patterns and anomalies Investigative Ownership: - Conduct and lead investigations into potential insider threats in partnership with teams across legal, HR, and engineering - Lead discussions with employees related to potential security concerns - Provide comprehensive but digestible technical-based reporting to partners and leadership Innovation & Tool Development: - Develop proactive security mechanisms that leverage technical expertise. These solutions may leverage GenAI-based tools. - Design and implement tools for detection, mitigation, and prevention of insider threat activity - Drive security process improvements to strengthen Amazon's internal threat protection capabilities Leadership & Impact: - Contribute to strategic security planning - Mentor junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing - Participate in on-call responsibilities (typically one week every two months) A day in the life Drive High-Impact Security Solutions: You'll tackle complex insider threat cases and spearh
