What They're Looking For.
Must Have
MS/PhD Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Coatings, 10 years of practical R&D experience, 5 years’ experience in Coatings formulation
Nice to Have
degreed candidates in other science related fields with applicable formulation experience, understanding of chemical manufacturing as it relates to coatings, resins or polymers, Knowledge of color/dispersion chemistry, resin chemistry, pre-treatments and corrosion protection, fundamental understanding of coatings technology and be capable of formulation optimization, Ability to develop and/or implement coating characterization testing methods, calibrate & run instrumentation and interpret results, Knowledge of design of experiment (DOE) techniques
What You'll Do.
Lead technical programs related to product development and customer support
Development and implementation of new product formulations
Initial definition with the customer
Scale-up with Manufacturing
Optimization of performance at the customer site
Apply statistical methods to investigate problems and analyze results
Deliver results against aggressive timelines
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Work as an active member of cross functional project teams with Manufacturing, Product Management, IT and Sales; Interact with others in R&D, Sales and Marketing; Ability to work as a part of a team
Communication Scope
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Process & Methodology
Lead technical programs, Organize objectives, Set milestones, Deliver results against aggressive timelines
