Full Job Description

Lytx is building a next-generation product platform combining a cloud-native AWS backend with embedded IoT hardware, including in-vehicle gateways and smart cameras. We are looking for a skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a newly formed QA team supporting Lytx’s cloud and IoT product platform. This is a hands-on role focused on validating complex systems that span backend services, APIs, and in-vehicle hardware. You will work closely with QA leadership, engineering, and product teams to ensure reliable, high-quality releases. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and execute **manual test cases** based on functional and technical specifications. * Develop and maintain **automated test scripts** using Python and/or Node.js. * Contribute to **test plans** covering cloud services, APIs, and hardware integrations. * Participate in **system, integration, regression, and release testing**. * Investigate, document, and reproduce defects to support efficient resolution by engineering teams. * Assist in **test environment setup** , configuration, and maintenance. * Collaborate with developers and QA leadership to continuously improve test coverage and quality practices. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) or equivalent experience. * 7 plus years experience with **manual and automated software testing**. * Proficiency in **Python and/or Node.js** for test automation. * Understanding of **networking concepts** (TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT). * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. * Experience leverage AI to increase QA productivity * Effective communication and collaboration skills. **Preferred Experience** * Testing or integration of IoT devices or hardware products. * Fleet management, automotive, or telematics platforms. * AWS cloud services **Why Join Us** * Hands-on role in a modern, evolving product ecosystem. * Opportunity to grow technical and automation expertise. * Collaborative, on-site team environment in San Diego.
