Must Have
Senior-level backend engineering experience with ownership of complex, end-to-end technical initiatives in production systems. Expertise in Python and Django, or equivalent backend experience with proven ability to transition into Python-based systems. Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migration strategies. Experience working with distributed systems, including asynchronous processing, queues, and event-driven architectures. Proven track record of working in large, evolving, or legacy codebases with modernization and optimization initiatives. Production mindset with experience in incident response, on-call support, and system reliability ownership. Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving architecture decisions and mentoring other engineers. Communication skills, with experience writing design documents, RFCs, or technical specifications. Ability to collaborate effectively with product and cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced environments. Experience influencing engineering standards and improving development practices across teams.

Define and promote engineering best practices, including documentation standards, testing strategies, and observability patterns.
Participate in incident response and production support, ensuring fast resolution and root cause analysis of critical issues.
Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements, define scope, and propose technical solutions.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.
