What They're Looking For.
Must Have
4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), 12 years or more of related field engineering experience with road/ highway & infrastructure projects, Broad general engineering background, Professional (PE) registration from any U.S. state, Affirmed ability to obtain a California PE within one year from date of hire, Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations, Thorough knowledge of current technology, Ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project

What You'll Do.
Integrate engineering
and start-up aspects for road
and transportation infrastructure projects.
Support multiple Caltrans and other regional projects.
Manage subtasks of large and complex projects or studies.
Ensure technical excellence of engineering functions.
Coordinate technical disciplines.
Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
Provide construction planning assistance.
Develop scope of engineering work
Monitor project progress against schedule and budget.
Identify and document scope changes.
Determine scope of procurement work
and budgets for technical aspects.
Facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors.
Participate in bid analysis.
Review work for adherence to codes
Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.
Conduct performance evaluations and take corrective action.
Provide training and development opportunities.
Coordinate interdisciplinary technical personnel.
Assist Project Manager in planning
and controlling project execution.
Determine technical skills and staff hours required.
Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
Expedite distribution of action items.
Understand client's business goals.
Prepare technical reports and documentation.
Act as Project Manager's deputy.
and circulate technical and contractual information.
Review and approve change orders.
Notify relevant personnel of changes.

Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible. _**Job Description:**_ **Senior Project Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure – San Diego, California** **Opportunity :** * Our **Parsons San Diego , California office** is now hiring for a **Senior Project Engineer** to integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up aspects for various road, highway and transportation infrastructure projects in Southern California. * This role will support multiple Caltrans and other regional projects in the San Diego area and other California regions as well . You may manage a subtask of a significantly large and complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligations. Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project, including coordination of technical disciplines, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction planning assistance. Previous project engineering experience is a prerequisite for this position. Relocation to the project site in the region may be required at times. * **We offer hybrid remote working scenario for this role ( meaning ability to work from home 1-2 days per week).
