What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction, Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry, Experience of leading cost management on medium or large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity, Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

RICS accredited or working towards it, Construction consultancy experience

What You'll Do.

Estimate and negotiate change orders

Provide estimate and cost planning

Review and participate in cost estimates

Gather status information

Prepare written comments

Coordinate cost information

Inform and drive engineering priorities

Resolve scheduling issues

Complete cost checking and valuation

Participate with post-contract cost variances

Manage cost impact / contingency management

Prepare funding data presentations

Coordinate VE sessions

Develop cost plans and estimates

Provide commercial input

Review contractor and subcontractor pricing

Perform quantity surveying

Manage change management activities

Ensure post-contract cost variances managed

Ensure change control processes managed

Ensure cost auditing managed

Ensure valuation work managed

Produce monthly cost reports

Negotiate and agree final accounts

Compile built cost estimate records

coach and mentor talent

Display excellence in leadership

Utilize internal software

Track ongoing margin levels

Track monthly fee/resource forecasts

Implement and maintain Business Management Systems

Ensure consistent delivery of best practice

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Work with the design services team; Work with the general contractor; Meet with the general contractor; Meet with the owner of project manager; Coordinate all sources of cost information; Work proactively with minimal supervision; Participate effectively with post-contract cost variances; Prepare funding data presentations; Coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders; Provide commercial input to design optioneering; Input into value engineering exercises; Lead negotiations on behalf of the client; Identify, coach and mentor talent; Celebrate the success of others; Display excellence in leadership and service delivery; Be a role model; Achieve great outcomes by striking the right balance for people, clients, stakeholders, and society

Communication Scope

Great communication skills; Communicate or meet with the general contractor and owner of project manager; Prepare written comments; Communicate cost information; Present final cost plan; Prepare funding data presentations; Present to the client
