What They're Looking For.
Must Have
7+ years shipping production software, at least 3 years in modern web stacks (React, TypeScript, Node, Python), Demonstrable AI-augmented engineering chops, track record of shipping at startup pace, Comfort working across the stack, including infrastructure and data layers, Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar), product instincts, Ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in a fast-moving, low-structure environment, Clear communicator who collaborates well across disciplines
Nice to Have
Backend depth, Postgres, async workers, agent orchestration patterns, LLM API integration, Prior FinTech, accounting, or expense management product experience, Familiarity with third-party financial APIs (e. g. , Stripe, Plaid, QBO), Exposure to security, compliance, or regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI, etc.), Design system contribution, Open-source presence or public AI-engineering writing

Engineers here don’t just ship code; they shape the product, influence decisions, and see their work directly impact customers. THE OPPORTUNITY We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer who thrives in ambiguity, ships fast, cares deeply about building reliable, well-crafted systems, and works AI-first by default. You’ll work across the stack to design and build core financial workflows, from backend systems and APIs to the user-facing experiences that make them usable. You’ll play a key role in shaping our architecture, product direction, and how we operate as an engineering team. You’ll ship faster than a 2025 engineer, by steering AI to do most of the implementation while you focus on judgment, decomposition, and verification. You know what good looks like! This is a hands-on role with real ownership with direct report to the CTO. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, not just execute. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own and ship full-stack features end-to-end, from shaping early ideas to delivering production systems used by customers daily - Build complex, data-dense interfaces — review queues, journal entry editors, reconciliation workflows, agent-state visualization, financial reports — that don't break under real customer data - Use AI tooling as your primary mode of writing code - Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent.
