Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Minimum of five (5) years post-baccalaureate experience, Previous experience providing engineering support to nuclear facility design, construction or operations, Knowledge of key NRC regulations, Knowledge of design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities, Knowledge in the use of related design software codes, Knowledge in process simulation software, Must be a U. S. citizen
Nice to Have
Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred, Design of Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects, Design of Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear fuel cycle facilities, Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience
What You'll Do.
Develop system architecture
Conceptualize flow diagrams
Conceptualize piping/instrumentation diagrams
Perform rigorous evaluations
Ensure systems maintain chemical safety
Ensure systems maintain criticality controls
Ensure systems maintain radiation shielding
Ensure systems maintain defense-in-depth principles
Select mechanical components
Test mechanical components
Specify mechanical components
Improve efficiency of existing nuclear facilities
Develop key design deliverables
Prepare engineering documents
Ensure design deliverables are of high standard
Ensure design deliverables are compliant with standards
Ensure design consultants deploy qualified personnel
Ensure sub-contractors deploy qualified personnel
Produce technically accurate documentation
Develop resolutions to complex problems
Develop resolutions to technical issues
Implement necessary change control
Act as a resource for colleagues
Perform other duties as assigned
