Accuracy of the payroll; Timely and accurate payroll inputs in other global jurisdictions; Filings are accurate, on time, and aligned with all applicable Indian regulations; Employee tax forms are completed accurately and on time in each jurisdiction; Smooth, accurate, and timely data flow between the two functions across the full employee lifecycle; New or updated policies are operationally sound
Industry & Context.
Address complex matters independently; Resolve complex payroll matters independently; Build and maintain reconciliation checks, audit trails, and variance resolve issues proactively rather than reactively
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
8–10+ years of hands-on India payroll experience, Statutory compliance and TDS management, Working knowledge of UKG OneView (Immedis) or comparable global payroll platforms, Self-directed and confident handling complex matters independently, Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace
Nice to Have
UKG OneView experience is strongly preferred, A University, College and/or Post Graduate Certificate in Payroll and/or Business Administration or a related field would be considered an asset
What You'll Do.
Own end-to-end India payroll for Assent
Support payroll in other global jurisdictions as required
Address complex matters independently
Hold a high bar for input accuracy
Use AI to work smarter
Ensure accuracy of the payroll
Manage employee relationships around payroll
Drive ongoing improvement of payroll processes
Oversee statutory compliance executed by our payroll provider
Confirm filings are accurate
and aligned with all applicable Indian regulations
Handle full and final settlements
gratuity calculations
and leave encashment for exiting employees
Manage year-end activities and statutory audit support
Act as the primary point of contact for India employees on all payroll
and statutory questions
Own the integrity of payroll inputs
Validate data from Employee Experience
and benefits systems before every cycle
Build and maintain reconciliation checks
and variance resolve issues proactively
Review compliance of employee expense reimbursements against company policy
Proactively explore new AI capabilities and bring them into the workflow where they add value
Partner with Employee Experience on payroll-related policy development
Resolve complex payroll matters independently
Support the implementation of new payroll software and process improvements
Coordinate the payroll and tax implications of new or evolving benefit packages
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Partner closely with the Employee Experience (HR) team as the embedded payroll expert on hiring, benefits design, policy changes, and exits; Partner with Employee Experience to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely data flow between the two functions across the full employee lifecycle; Partner with Employee Experience on payroll-related policy development
Communication Scope
Able to explain complex payroll and tax matters clearly to employees
Process & Methodology
Support the implementation of new payroll software and process improvements as needed
