Executive Summary Role Title: Senior Network Engineer Team: IT Infrastructure Role Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) Location: Dublin (hybrid working) **Purpose of this role** The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation, and support of the Athora enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role ensures the delivery of secure, resilient, and high-performing network services aligned to business and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be tasked with owning the Athora Group Network Environment and all Network projects associated with it. In addition, the role will provide operational oversight and act as the level 4 escalation SME for all Network operations issues. This is both a hands-on and strategic role offering the successful candidate a unique opportunity to manage an extensive network operations environment whilst also playing a major role in Athora’s network and IT strategy. **Key Responsibilities** Network Architecture & Design * Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking). * Define network standards, architecture diagrams, and technical roadmaps. * Lead network transformation initiatives (e.g., cloud adoption, zero trust frameworks). * Contribute significantly to the Athora Network & IT Strategy Operations & Support * Provide Level 3-4 support for complex network incidents and problems. * Ensure high availability and performance of network infrastructure * Oversee monitoring, alerting, and capacity management of network services. Security & Compliance * Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation). * Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001). * Support vulnerability management, patching, and security incident response.
