Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer **Company:** The Boeing Company **Boeing Commercial Airplanes** is seeking a **Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer** to join our **787 Mechanical Systems (Environmental Control Systems, Hydraulics, Flight Deck Design, & Flight Controls) Design Engineering team** located in **North Charleston, South Carolina**. The Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer will support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design of one of the four listed systems (ECS, Hydraulics, Flight Deck, Flight Controls) for the 787 Program in a sustaining production environment. Project examples include addressing design obsolescence, developing product improvements, supporting production build and test, supporting new customer introduction, and supporting the in-service fleet. **Position Responsibilities:** * Directs the development and documentation of large scale, complex mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. * Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. * Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. * Serves as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to production processes. * Coaches and mentors others. * Works under consultative direction. **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. * 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience * 15+ years of experience with Mechanical Systems * 15+ years of professional experience working in an
