The Role We are looking for a Senior Manager, M&A Tax / US Income Tax Planning to join our tax team. You will report to our Head of Global Tax Advisory and will help manage Block's global M&A, Investments, Federal and State income tax planning, Treasury Services, Income/Direct Tax Controversy and Post-Closing Integration/Compliance activities. You Will Lead Block’s global M&A, investments, and post-closing integration/compliance activities. Partner with internal teams, tax colleagues, and external advisors on the tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, investments, structuring, and integration. Ensure tax planning and technical matters are accurately reflected in tax filings. Perform tax modeling and quantitative analyses (e.g., Sections 382/383, stock basis, and transaction-related calculations). Research complex tax issues, advise cross-functional stakeholders (HR, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development, Accounting), and prepare technical tax memoranda supporting filing positions and planning strategies. Manage income tax audits from planning and IDR responses through resolution. Support special tax projects, including new product reviews, Treasury and Capital Markets initiatives, and state income tax planning.
