What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5-8 years of experience in policy implementation, program management, nonprofit operations or a related field, understanding of program operations and execution, Excellent written communicator, Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines, skilled at managing both strategy and execution, Comfortable working directly with external partners, willingness and ability to travel up to 35% of the time
Nice to Have
Exposure to fundraising and donor strategy, Experience working across multiple states or in a national policy environment, Experience building operational playbooks, accelerators, or cohort-based programs

This role works cross functionally with research, communications, government affairs, and digital teams to advance organizational priorities through research translation, messaging, media support, and digital engagement. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, the Public Affairs Manager will proactively identify and execute opportunities to elevate our mission through content development, polling insights, external communications, and special projects. This is an ideal role for a public affairs or research professional passionate about education policy, policy communications, and strategic messaging in a fast paced, mission driven environment. ## How You Will Contribute Lead key workstreams across YesF’s federal and state implementation portfolio, with primary responsibility for federal scholarship initiatives Design and deliver implementation supports including cohort-based learning, startup advisory support and scalable tools to accelerate launch and growth of programs. Work directly with organization leaders to support launch readiness, operational planning and early-stage implementation Develop and deliver practical implementation tools, including startup playbooks, compliance guidance, donor engagement strategies and resources Translate federal policy and emerging guidance into clear, actionable steps
