What They're Looking For.

Must Have

privacy background, minimum of 5 years privacy experience, Technical knowledge of data protection laws, regulations and practices in Canada and experience of applying these in practice, analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and problem-solving skills with focus on attention to detail, administrative, documentation, planning and organizational skills, Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority DSAR projects simultaneously, Self-sufficient with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, Experience with process mapping, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives, Aptitude for learning technical systems and applications

Nice to Have

Technical knowledge of data protection laws, regulations and practices in the USA and the Caribbean and experience of applying these in practice, Relevant privacy experience in Financial Services, delivering cross-company and/or jurisdiction privacy programs/initiatives, Professional designation/privacy qualification (such as CIPP/C or Practitioner Certification) is highly desirable, Experience delivering cross-company and/or jurisdiction privacy programs/initiatives

What You'll Do.

overseeing RBC’s compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws as well as RBCs Enterprise Privacy Risk Management Policy as it relates to HRployee data

Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Global Privacy Program for Human Resources in Canada

the USA and the Caribbean

helping ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws

regulations and internal policies

Responsible for the handling of all individual (employee) rights requests in compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations

redaction of responsible material in collaboration with key internal partners

Be responsible for privacy & compliance regulatory requirements in Canada

the USA and the Caribbean leveraging knowledge to monitor

fulfil and service Privacy Incidents

Privacy-related requests

and other Privacy Risk Management activities applicable to HRployee data

advising on privacy design requirements

conducting privacy risk assessments

identifying and mitigating HR privacy risk exposures

manage data incidents and breaches

coordinating responses to individual (employee) rights requests and other privacy queries

Ensure appropriate handling of Canada

USA and Caribbean based privacy complaints

responding to privacy queries and complaints from employees in a timely manner and accurate manner

document and track privacy risks and recommend actions (i. e. control activities)

reporting of the risk position as required through formal organizational risk management processes and investigations

Initiate and own risk mitigation methodologies required to prudently manage risk exposures applicable to HRployee data

Support and advise on the management of HRployee data incidents and breaches

in line with privacy legislation and local (Canada/USA/Caribbean) specific policies and procedures

Support the Privacy Risk program for Human Resources by developing and facilitating privacy training to improve employee awareness

Drive culture of privacy within Human Resources by advocating for privacy by design and integration of the RBC privacy principles

accountability and sharing of best practice

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Develop service partnerships with business stakeholders, Group Risk Management and Compliance in identifying risk-related issues and raising awareness and understanding of risks associated with HRployee data; communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide

Process & Methodology

Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority DSAR projects simultaneously
