Responsibilities include management of research and development projects, as well as customer relations and program management. Knowledge of Navy/DoD research and development processes and organizations, DoD systems, DoD acquisition as well as familiarity with equipment deployment and testing are helpful. Duties include, but are not limited to: Working directly for Division Manager. Establishing current and future program objectives and plans. Regularly interacting with customer base, up to the SES/Flag/General Officer level. Leading and overseeing multiple aspects of R&D projects related to US DOD programs. Managing teams of research scientists and software developers and successfully delivering products to clients. Working with Division VP and Division Directors to identify new customers, and to plan, formulate, and write proposals. This will include defining the objective or purpose of the work, estimating costs and specifying the capabilities of the product to be delivered. Desired Qualifications: A graduate degree in technical field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, physical sciences, or operations research). A minimum of 10 years of defense programs experience in the areas of research and development to include technical and program management experience with industry or government.
