What They're Looking For.
Must Have
6–10+ years of crude oil trading experience, with material exposure to Canadian and North American light crude, Proven track record of consistent P&L generation across physical and/or financial crude markets, understanding of Light/Heavy dynamics, understanding of Canadian Light / MSW / Bakken / SYN / US Light grades, understanding of Pipeline and egress constraints (Enbridge, Trans Mountain, Keystone, rail), Demonstrated experience trading physical crude, futures, swaps, and basis differentials, quantitative, analytical, and decision‑making skills under uncertainty
What You'll Do.
Own and deliver risk-adjusted P&L through active trading of physical and financial light crude
deploying capital across physical
and continuously refine discretionary and structured trading strategies
monetizing inefficiencies driven by flows
Originate and optimize physical crude flows and infrastructure positions (pipeline
capturing arbitrage across location
Drive incremental value through integration and optimization of Suncor production and refining assets
fundamentals-driven market views
integrating supply/demand
and forward structure into positioning decisions
Actively manage portfolio risk (VaR
position limits) with disciplined trade execution
and adherence to risk/credit frameworks
Build and leverage a commercial and market network
while contributing to desk strategy and mentoring junior talent on trade desk
