What They're Looking For.
Must Have
J.D. from an accredited law school, active Tennessee law license, Approximately 7+ years of relevant legal experience, commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation experience, ability to advise executives and operators in clear, practical language, Comfortable serving as the primary in-house legal resource, effectively managing outside counsel, knowing when to escalate specialized matters, judgment, ownership, responsiveness, prioritization, ability to make practical recommendations in fast-moving environments with incomplete information, Experience balancing legal risk with business priorities, helping teams and leadership make smart decisions quickly
Nice to Have
Experience in B2B media, SaaS, technology-enabled services, marketing technology, lead generation, private equity-backed companies, founder-led businesses, acquisitive companies, portfolio company environments, Experience supporting M&A transactions, post-closing integration, employment matters, restrictive covenants, confidentiality obligations, trade secrets, employee disputes, investigations, outside counsel management
