Position: Senior Highway Engineer - Project Manager Job status: Exempt-salaried Location: Billings, MT (Relocation assistance provided) Unique opportunity for a senior civil engineer who wants to grow their own legacy by starting, building, and growing a highway and transportation practice group of their very own. THE ROLE The Transportation Practice Leader will lead the launch, buildout, and growth of a new transportation engineering practice out of our Billings, MT office with the autonomy to shape its direction, build the team, and establish a strong market presence. You’ll be supported by an established firm infrastructure, existing client relationships, and leadership alignment to accelerate growth. This role combines deep technical expertise with entrepreneurial leadership, requiring ownership of service development, client growth, and team formation. For the right person, this is a chance to build something—not just deliver projects. These responsibilities include: Define and lead the growth strategy for the transportation practice, including service offerings, target markets, and team buildout. Establish technical standards, QA/QC protocols, and best practices for the discipline. Partner with firm leadership to shape workload, revenue growth, and resource planning as the practice scales.
