Full Job Description
Amazon Devices is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile electronic devices. Amazon devices started with originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. Amazon reliability team aims to develop reliable and robust products that delight our customers. In this role, as a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability engineering of our new and emerging robotic devices. The Role: As a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will be responsible for the test and validation of robotic devices. You should have a good understanding of Reliability statistics/Reliability tests and/or solid understanding of electrical and robotic products to influence design for reliability to: - Identify and validate product risks, including but not limited to electrical system, mechanical system, and work with design teams to mitigate them - Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability - Provide hands-on experimental design and execution - Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and products in the field Basic Qualifications: - Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability - Experience in Robotics, including reliability of motors, sensors, and high power electronics. - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. - Experience with hardware reliability testing such as vibration & shock testing, fatigue testing, electrical stress testing, ESD testing
