5+ years of copywriting experience with a focus on performance marketing and paid social and results to back it up, Comfortable in a dashboard as in a script doc, with the instinct to draw your own creative conclusions from data, Deep knowledge of what works on Meta versus TikTok versus YouTube, and why, Written across formats: video scripts, static ads, UGC-style content, long-form YouTube, display, and more, Creative opinions, held lightly and genuine energy for iteration and rapid-fire production cycles, Experience working with or alongside media buyers or growth marketers to shape creative strategy, not just execute it

What you’d be doing in this role As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. This role sits at the intersection of creative craft and performance marketing and it's one of the most impactful seats in the house. You'll shape the ads that introduce Canva to millions of people, then dig into the data to make them even better. At the moment, this role is focused on: * Leading concept development and writing high-converting copy for paid campaigns across YouTube, Meta, TikTok, and beyond from punchy short-form hooks to longer-form scripts. * Owning the full performance creative loop: brief, script, production collaboration, and post-launch analysis. * Partnering with designers, motion artists, and videographers to bring ideas to life with genuine creative ambition. * Reviewing live campaign performance (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, conversion) and turning data into clear hypotheses and better briefs. * Building and codifying
