With the largest avocado-growing footprint in the world, we are recognised as the leading **#avoexperts** and considered as the supplier of choice to both retail & wholesale customers whom we serve from sales offices in the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America & Southern Africa. **We’re looking for a Senior GL Accountant to join our team in Poeldijk.** The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for overseeing the general ledger activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to improve financial processes and controls. **Responsibilities include:** * Manage general ledger activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across the business * Prepare and post journals, accruals, provisions and other accounting adjustments in a timely manner * Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies identified * Support month end, quarter end and year end close activities, ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved * Oversee accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash allocation, account reconciliations and collections support * Support accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payment administration * Analyse financial data and variances, providing meaningful insights and explanations to management * Support internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies * Assist with statutory reporting, tax
