About Pearl Pearl is shaping the future of dentistry with a suite of AI solutions developed to establish higher standards of quality and care for patients worldwide. Since 2019, our team has engineered FDA-cleared computer vision capabilities for interpretation of 2D and 3D dental imagery — industry-leading capabilities which clinicians, practice owners, labs and insurers use to elevate the efficiency, accuracy and consistency of dental care around the world. The Role Remote, United States Owning the frontend architecture of Pearl's AI-powered dental platform — defining component standards, driving UI quality, and shipping polished, performant interfaces that clinicians rely on every day. Responsibilities - Architect and lead the development of scalable, maintainable frontend systems using component-oriented design principles - Own and evolve Pearl's design system and component library, setting standards for consistency, accessibility, and reuse across the product - Drive Storybook adoption as a first-class tool for component development, documentation, and visual testing - Partner closely with design, product, and backend engineers to shape technical direction and translate complex clinical workflows into intuitive UI - Establish and enforce frontend best practices — code reviews, testing standards, performance benchmarks, and observability - Use AI tools daily to generate component code from Figma designs, produce documentation, and accelerate UI development workflows - Apply AI-assisted analysis to diagnose and debug UI issues across the product - Generate and maintain end-to-end UI tests using Playwright - Contribute to full-stack features across the Node.js backend and AWS infrastructure when needed Required Qualifications - 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience - Expert-level Vanilla JS and React — deep platform knowledge, not just framework familiarity - Strong command of component-oriented programming and MVC architecture patterns - Proven
