What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of professional experience in frontend development with a focus on React. js and Next. js, Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and ES6+ features, Strong product sense and customer empathy, Comfortable making judgment calls on scope, UX tradeoffs, and what's worth building without waiting for a spec, Solid understanding of web application architecture and frontend–backend interactions, Proven track record of leading frontend projects, from early prototypes to production systems, collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams, Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team-wide technical direction, Fluency with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex or equivalent), Experience writing effective specs, managing repo context, and reviewing/verifying agent output
Nice to Have
Experience with databases (e. g. , Postgres) and ORMs (Prisma. js, Sequelize. js), Exposure to computer vision, LLMs, or multimodal AI applications, Experience building developer-facing products (e. g. , SDKs, dashboards, APIs), Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), Experience simplifying user experiences for complex, enterprise-facing software
