What They're Looking For.
Must Have
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services, 3–5+ years of experience within high-tech, laboratory, cleanroom, semiconductor, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environments, working knowledge of MEP systems and building services, experience using CMMS systems, solid understanding of UK compliance frameworks, including L8, fire safety, and health & safety regulations, confident interpreting technical drawings, SOPs, and specifications, supporting critical laboratory and manufacturing operations where uptime, reliability, and compliance are essential
Nice to Have
Experience supporting cleanroom (ISO 5–8) environments, Experience with PCW / CHW systems or critical cooling infrastructure, Familiarity with BMS platforms (e. g. Trend, Tridium Niagara), IOSH qualification or equivalent, Experience working in audit-driven environments (GLP / GMP), working within laboratory and cleanroom environments while following gowning and contamination control procedures, participating in on-call support and occasional out-of-hours or weekend working, demonstrating a safety mindset with the confidence to challenge unsafe acts and ensure compliance across critical facilities infrastructure and operations

taking direct ownership of facilities issues
ensuring facilities issues are managed through to resolution
carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across HVAC
supporting the reliable operation of critical utilities
acting as a first responder to facilities faults and system issues
completing routine compliance activities
ensuring effective system performance and safety
taking ownership of daily compliance tasks
ensuring documentation is complete
proactively identifying and raising compliance risks
managing and controlling contractor activities on site
ensuring RAMS are reviewed and followed
ensuring Permit-to-Work systems are correctly applied
ensuring all works are carried out safely and to required standards
challenging unsafe practices
stopping work if required
ensuring all documentation
and completion records are accurately captured
supporting facilities requirements across laboratory
and technical manufacturing environments
helping maintain controlled conditions
assisting with installation
and setup of equipment and infrastructure
coordinating key interfaces for new equipment
and closing work orders using CMMS
maintaining accurate asset registers and maintenance records
supporting calibration tracking
contributing to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs and maintenance procedures
responding to facilities incidents
supporting emergency response procedures
supporting business continuity activities
participating in an on-call rota
carrying out minor repairs and fabric maintenance
supporting goods-in and logistics activities
assisting with equipment movement
maintaining stock levels of critical spares and consumables
supporting flexible day-to-day site operations
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
works closely with the Head of Facilities; coordinating key interfaces including power, cooling, and other services for new equipment
