What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, Minimum of 5 years of plant engineering experience, In depth knowledge of HVAC equipment and its operation, Good working knowledge of power termination, distribution and back-up generation equipment, Overall knowledge of electrical systems, analytical skills to determine site electrical rate structure and be in a position to negotiate the best deal for Abbott, negotiating skills to deal with contractors and consultants
Nice to Have
technical knowledge of facilities operations, including HVAC systems and general facility equipment, Experience managing facilities-related projects (e. g. , infrastructure upgrades, site improvements), Proven project management skills, including: timeline management, budget ownership and tracking and resource planning and coordination, Experience managing and coordinating multiple external vendors
What You'll Do.
Conduct feasibility studies
Write RCE's and implement projects
Investigate state of the art equipment for energy conservation
Write specifications and call for bids
Coordinate with Accounting for DCF and post completion audits
Select vendor/contractor
Coordinate with vendor/contractor and Facilities Shop for installation
Develop Site LRP Space Strategy
Determine overall energy usage at the entire site
Develop Facilities Financial LRP
Determine equipment and processes for utility budget
Optimize functioning of operations and processes
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
high degree of interaction with all functional managers and operating department managers; constant interaction with the operational managers; work closely with the different functional groups/trades in the Facilities Shop; interact at the Corporate level with all the Corporate Engineering departments; effective communication with outside engineering consultants, vendors and contractors; interaction and working with all levels from supervisory to non-exempt personnel
