What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10+ years of experience in engineering management, experience managing other managers or leads, led 'Platform, 'Core, ' or 'Infrastructure' teams where your primary customers were other engineers, Extensive experience with React on the web, understanding of Native Mobile (Swift/Kotlin) ecosystems, successfully led large-scale architectural shifts, such as moving from a monolith to a modularized architecture or implementing a company-wide Design System, 5-days-per-week onsite collaboration, thrive in a fast-paced environment where you must balance long-term technical health with immediate product needs, BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
What You'll Do.
Lead the multi-quarter effort to modularize our Web (React) and Mobile (Native) codebases
Define the future of our client-side stack
evaluating and driving adoption of new technologies
Manage and mentor a team of 15-20 engineers (including tech leads and managers)
Own the Verkada Design System and CI/CD infrastructure
Dive deep into technical designs
Challenge architectural decisions
Partner with the Director of Core Platform and other stakeholders to align the platform roadmap
