**What 's the role?** # Senior Engineer — Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineering | Sydney, 2 Holt Street | Hybrid (3 days in office) ## About the Role We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team, contributing to the design, build, and ongoing operation of cloud infrastructure that underpins critical business systems across News Corp. This is a hands-on engineering role, you will be embedded in the day-to-day delivery of cloud platforms, writing code, building tooling, and solving infrastructure problems alongside a team of experienced engineers. You will report to the Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering within the Global Infrastructure Engineering team, and work closely with peer engineers, platform leads, and product teams across the organization. ## What You'll Do ### Engineering & Delivery * Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure on AWS, with some exposure to GCP. * Write and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform powered by Terragrunt, following team standards and best practices * Develop and maintain automation tooling and scripts, primarily in Python * Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins ### Operations & Reliability * Participate as a resolver in incident and problem management for in-scope platforms * Monitor and maintain platform health using tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, SumoLogic, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana * Identify and remediate cloud security vulnerabilities in line with team standards and security frameworks * Adhere to security, privacy, and compliance policies as they apply to your work ### Collaboration & Communication * Work closely with peer engineers and platform leads, contributing actively in team ceremonies and technical discussions * Write clear technical documentation for the platforms and tooling you work on * Engage with customer teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs * Share knowledge with teammates and contribute
