What They're Looking For.
Must Have
7+ years of hands-on C/C++ and Python user-space and middleware development in Linux environments, BS/MS in CS, CE, or EE, Proficient in designing Bash scripts, custom developer tooling, and automated workflows for Linux-based systems, Experienced in building, maintaining, and scaling CI/CD pipelines, automation testing frameworks, and infrastructure, Competent in multi-layer software debugging, system logging implementation, and configuring telemetry or observability tooling, Functional knowledge of integrating and troubleshooting communication protocols including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, Ethernet, and CAN
Nice to Have
Expert C/C++ developer in embedded Linux and middleware environments, utilizing Yocto, QEMU, virtualization, HIL/SIL, and device simulation, Experienced in developer tooling, build systems, platform infrastructure, Docker, and AWS-based cloud infrastructure, Skilled in building and managing telemetry pipelines, metrics systems, dashboards, and advanced analytics tooling, Proven track record scaling automation for connected device ecosystems, integrating device-cloud systems, and leveraging AI-assisted workflows

Full Job Description
## Description As the Connectivity and Audio Manager at Zoox, you will lead efforts to deliver stable, high-performance, updatable, and secure automotive control units, primarily focused on audio and connectivity systems. You’ll play a key role in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, where the embedded software team is central to building Zoox’s ground-up autonomous vehicle platform. With many components designed and developed in-house, including custom software stacks, your team will be instrumental in delivering systems that meet both the rigorous demands of fleet-scale deployment and evolving customer expectations. In this role, you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and growing a team of embedded software developers and validation engineers. Your focus will be on enabling deterministic, high-performance behavior in resource-constrained, safety-critical electronic control units (ECUs).
