PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing / commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances, such as IEC 61850, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from preliminary engineering through to the commissioning and startup. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical/Substation Engineer to join our engineering team on a full time basis. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process. Responsibilities: · Complete and authenticate outdoor substation design packages for ampacity diagram, layouts, plot plans, bus elevations, ground grid, equipment/structure grounding details, control & power cable layouts, control building electrical design, for voltage levels ranging from 25kV to 240kV. · Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design conformance is accomplished. · Complete calculations and studies to support the design, including grounding, lightning, lighting, AC/DC Load Studies, station service transformer and battery bank sizing, insulation coordination, and rigid bus study. · Complete MV cable ampacity calculations with CYMCAP. · Develop equipment and apparatus specifications suitable for project application. · Review vendor documentation and drawings to ensure constructability, operability, and compliance with equipment specifications and design. · Develop and maintain bill of materials for substation outdoor installation. · Review engineered outputs to ensure compliance with project defined scopes and client requirements. · Provide site construction and commissioning support when needed. · Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data.
