What They're Looking For.
Must Have
+90% English written and oral (at least C1 level), 3–6+ years of experience with Drupal (8/9/10) and PHP, Experience working with the Pantheon hosting platform, Hands-on experience with Terminus CLI, MultiDev workflows, and upstream-based Drupal architectures, experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar), Comfortable debugging across application code, deployment pipelines, and hosting/platform environments, Experience working in multi-site or multi-tenant architectures, understanding of version control (Git), deployment strategies (canary, phased rollouts), and environment management (dev/test/prod isolation), Ability to work across both application code and infrastructure workflows
Nice to Have
Frontend experience with Vue.js and TypeScript, Scripting or backend experience with Node.js or Python, Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, VPAT), Familiarity with search platforms (MongoDB Atlas Search, vector search, RAG systems), Knowledge of release automation patterns (auto-generated changelogs, commit parsing, etc.)

Work with Pantheon platform tooling (Terminus CLI

and site orchestration)
Support platform stability
and environment lifecycle management
Contribute to and maintain a Drupal 10-based multi-tenant platform
Develop and support custom modules
Debug and resolve issues across a shared codebase impacting multiple sites
Ensure best practices for performance
Extend automation using Quicksilver (even-driven workflows) and messaging integrations (e. g.
Google Chat notifications)
Improve visibility into system health

About the Role We are seeking a Senior Drupal / WebOps Engineer to help operate, maintain, and extend a large-scale enterprise web platform powering 400+ Drupal sites. This role sits at the intersection of application engineering and platform operations, ensuring reliable, scalable deployments across a multi-site architecture. You will build on modern automation foundations (GitHub Actions, Pantheon Terminus, Quicksilver) and drive improvements in release velocity, reliability, and observability across the platform. What You’ll Work On * CI/CD & Platform Automation * Maintain and extend GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines * Manage automated workflows for MultiDev environment creation (Pantheon), Canary deployments, phased releases, and fleet-wide upstream deployments * Troubleshoot pipeline failures and improve resiliency and observability * Enhance automation around release processes, including changelog generation and deployment validation * Pantheon & Hosting Operations * Work with Pantheon platform tooling (Terminus CLI, MultiDev environments, upstream management, and site orchestration) * Support platform stability, deployment workflows, and environment lifecycle management * Drupal Engineering (Backend Focus) * Contribute to and maintain a Drupal 10-based multi-tenant platform * Develop and support custom modules, integrations, and backend logic * Debug and resolve issues across a shared codebase impacting multiple sites * Ensure best practices for performance, security, and maintainability * Automation & Observability * Extend automation using Quicksilver (even-driven workflows) and messaging integrations (e.g., Google Chat notifications) * Improve visibility into system health, deploymen
