Full Job Description
**The Work:** ICF is seeking an experienced and driven Database Administrator to lead and oversee mission-critical initiatives in support of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). In this role, this individual will provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for enterprise database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, integrity, and security of mission data. They will guide database architecture decisions, oversee operational stability, and serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders on database strategy and risk management. **Job Location:** This position is remote but will need to live in the Washington DC metro area. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and also prohibits personal VPN connections. You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office or client site. Our core work hours are 8am - 5pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone. **What You Will Do:** * Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise database architectures, including schema design, data modeling, and structural configurations. * Provide technical oversight for Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring databases are highly available, resilient, and operating error-free. * Establish and enforce database security standards, ensuring compliance with federal and DoW security requirements, including access controls, auditing, encryption, and vulnerability remediation. * Oversee database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities in accordance with change control and security policies. * Direct performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning efforts to ensure optimal database efficiency and scalability. * Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex database accessibility, performance, and data integrity issues.
