What They're Looking For.
Must Have
J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and an active license to practice, A minimum of eight years of commercial law experience, including a combination of law firm experience (preferably with an Am Law 100 or comparable firm) and in‑house counsel practice, Exceptional judgment, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to independently drive practical solutions, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business guidance, Familiarity with U. S. and international laws, commercial practices, and trade terms, including competition laws, anti‑bribery laws, trade controls, Incoterms, and freight and transportation matters, Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply and vendor agreements, services agreements, equipment purchase agreements, contract manufacturing agreements, sales agency and distribution agreements, license agreements, joint development agreements, term sheets, and letters of intent, Experience with intellectual property protection, portfolio management, and oversight

What You'll Do.
Providing day-to-day legal advice to Ingevity’s business segments on a broad range of legal
and regulatory matters
and managing internal procedures and controls to ensure consistent and effective oversight across the business
and reviewing a wide variety of commercial contracts
Advising Ingevity’s businesses on the development
and execution of the company’s global intellectual property strategy
Monitoring and managing Ingevity’s intellectual property portfolio
Coordinating and overseeing external intellectual property counsel and managing related costs
Directly managing legal matters and engaging external counsel as appropriate
