Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, 2+ years of ARP 4754 certification experience, Master’s degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, PhD in degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems, U. S. Citizen
Nice to Have
5+ years of ARP 4754, DO-178, or DO-254 certification experience, Application of agile development methods, Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience, Demonstrated experience safety critical certification liaison, Experience developing model-based systems with digital engineering toolsets, Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or similar SysML modelling software, Experience with DO-331 Model Based Development, Experience with CAST-32A Multi-Core Processor Position Paper, Understanding of IEEE 1633 Recommended Practice on Software Reliability, Understanding of DO-326 & DO-356 or Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security aspects of certification

## **Job Description** **Job Title: Senior Control System Engineer – Certification Liaison** **Working Pattern: Fulltime** **Working location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid working)** Rolls-Royce is looking for a Senior Control System Certification Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team. As a Senior Control System Certification Engineer, you will be the owner of obtaining certification authority approval of the control system, software, and airborne electronic hardware aspects of engine certification. To be successful you must use guidance from the appropriate revision of DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754 and supporting supplements. You will be responsible for communicating the certification approach, and the planning and compliance substantiation for the system, software, and airborne electronic hardware. You will coordinate the phases of the certification liaison process and the audits where the certification life cycle data is reviewed with the certification authority. This includes the development of planning baselines and incremental certifications i.e., changes to a previously developed control system, software, or airborne electronic hardware.
