Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Lead the design and development of bridge construction means and methods, including erection sequencing and temporary works solutions. Engineer and review lifting plans involving cranes, rigging systems, jacking operations, and structural steel installation. Provide technical oversight for complex bridge erection activities and ensure alignment with safety and engineering standards. Develop and optimize purpose-built erection equipment and construction support systems. Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and contractors to ensure constructability and execution feasibility of designs. Conduct site visits and provide on-the-ground engineering support during critical construction phases. Review and resolve technical construction challenges related to structural steel, industrial components, and temporary structures. Ensure compliance with engineering codes, safety regulations, and project specifications throughout construction activities. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in construction engineering focused on heavy bridge and civil infrastructure projects. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent), with professional chartership preferred (ICE, IStructE, or similar). Eligibility to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in British Columbia, Canada. Strong expertise in bridge construction methods, steel erection, and industrial structural systems. Advanced knowledge of crane operations, rigging, lifting design, and jacking methodologies. Proven field experience working on active construction sites, ideally with structural steel or ironworker environments. Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to guide technical teams effectively. Excellent communication skills for coordination with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong problem-solving ability in complex, high-pressure construction environments.
