Must Have
background in civil and structural engineering related to environmental and water infrastructure projects, Experience in sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, clarifiers, tanks, and hydraulic structures, Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and bridge engineering design with construction realities, analytical skills with a practical and delivery-focused engineering approach, Experience in tendering, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and value engineering, communication and stakeholder management skills, Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, Minimum 8–10 years of experience in environmental infrastructure projects, preferably water or wastewater treatment, Middle East experience is mandatory, knowledge of reinforced concrete design for hydraulic structures, Familiarity with international design standards such as Eurocodes, ACI, and BS standards, Fluent English is required
Nice to Have
European project or supplier exposure is preferred, Hindi or Arabic is a plus

Lead the review and validation of civil and structural designs prepared by consultants
Review structural calculations
challenge design assumptions
and guide engineering development from concept through detailed design
Support tendering activities including BOQ preparation
and pricing strategies
Propose optimized structural solutions for water and wastewater treatment facilities with a focus on constructability
and CAPEX optimization
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards including Eurocodes
Provide technical support during execution phases including design review follow-up and interface with site teams

Why This Role Matters As part of BESIX Environment, this role supports the development of sewage treatment plants and related water infrastructure projects across the region. The Senior Civil / Structural Engineer will play a key role during tendering and early design stages, ensuring that civil and structural solutions are technically sound, cost-efficient, constructible, and aligned with project delivery requirements.
