What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Professional Engineering or Architectural License, Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities, Experience in Civil Engineering Design
Nice to Have
Knowledge of building codes and regulations, Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment, Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents, Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
What You'll Do.
Work with design and engineering professionals
review and release data centre Civil Engineering
Manage portfolio of data centre designs
Develop and maintain Basis of Design
Serve as technical advisor for AWS DC design
Review civil engineering designs
Evaluate civil engineering design options
Assess civil engineering calculation assumptions
Manage external civil design consultants
Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers
Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost
Work on multiple data centre build projects
Work on capital improvement projects
Travel for site assessments
Travel for consultant selection activities
Travel for internal design meetings
Travel for construction review
Travel for interface with AHJs
Travel for interface with design consultants
Travel for interface with quantity surveyors
Travel for interface with building owners
Lead designs for AWS DCs
Manage delivery of multiple site designs
Challenge the status quo
Provide technical guidance
Solve large scale implementation issues
Be responsible for Civil Engineering design requirements
