Role Summary The Senior Big Data Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing the bank’s big data platforms and data processing pipelines to ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security. This role provides technical leadership for data platform operations, supports analytics and regulatory workloads, and ensures data platforms operate reliably in a regulated Virtual Bank environment. What You’ll Do Design, operate, and maintain big data platforms supporting banking, analytics, and reporting workloads. Ensure availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning of data platforms and data pipelines. Implement and maintain data ingestion, processing, and streaming platforms. Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery for big data platforms. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data platform components. Ensure data platform security controls, access management, and encryption are properly enforced. Lead incident response and root cause analysis for data platform–related issues. Collaborate with Application, Cloud, DBA, and Security teams to support platform integration and stability. Review and improve operational procedures, standards, and runbooks.
