What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of backend engineering experience, modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or C#, Experience designing and building ReSTful APIs and backend services, understanding of distributed systems and inter-service communication, Experience working with relational databases and SQL, Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Nice to Have
Go preferred or willingness to learn, deployed and maintained services in cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP), comfortable with Docker/Kubernetes, observability tooling (metrics, alerts, tracing), service reliability, worked with protobufs/gRPC, or Temporal, experience breaking monoliths into microservices, thoughtful about technical debt and scalability, write code with both today and the future in mind, value cross-functional collaboration, can explain complex systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, lead with curiosity, seek to understand before acting, strive to elevate the team around you
