The Senior Application Database Administrator plays a key role in designing, supporting, and improving cloud-based databases that power modern applications. This person partners closely with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to ensure databases are reliable, scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. This is a hands-on role with strong technical leadership, where you will guide best practices and help teams build solutions that work well in cloud environments while supporting business-critical applications. You will report to the Software Development Agile Developer. Responsibilities: * Lead the design, performance, and reliability of cloud-based, application-facing databases * Partner with engineering teams to build scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient database solutions * Guide best practices for database design, schema changes, and performance tuning * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, leading root cause analysis when needed * Implement standards, guardrails, and automation to improve database operations * Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across engineering and database communities ## Qualifications * 7+ years of experience working with application databases or in DBA roles, including cloud environments * Strong expertise in at least one relational database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) * Hands-on experience with cloud-managed database services and modern architectures * Advanced skills in SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting * Experience supporting production systems and making sound technical decisions independentl
