What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Undergraduate degree in business, economics, policy, law, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, 8+ years of specialized experience in electricity markets, including areas such as current and future energy markets, power trading, energy policy development, or system operations, understanding of electricity market rules, regulatory frameworks, and operational realities—and the ability to apply this knowledge in strategic contexts, Experience developing strategies that integrate market design, public policy, operational considerations, and stakeholder interests, Proven ability to build trust and maintain relationships across multidisciplinary teams, Experience facilitating or leading stakeholder consultations, Experience working with government or public-sector organizations, writing skills, particularly for executive audiences, Resilience and comfort operating in environments with evolving priorities, multiple variables, and uncertain outcomes
Nice to Have
An advanced degree is an asset, Direct experience with Alberta’s electricity market would be considered an asset
